April x Decadent Drinks: Pushing painting beyond the studio to a new audience of the everyday through bespoke Scottish Whisky.
Our 2026 Equinox & Solstice series commences with something peaty, medicinal and pristinely refreshing for Spring: a 10 year old, 2015, peated Ardnamurchan. This was created from a marriage of a peated 1st fill barrel and a peated refill barrel, before being bottled at this series' trademark dramming strength of 48.5%. It's a wonderfully medicinal and mineral example of Ardnamurchan, with brilliantly chiselled peat smoke, seawater, bandages and hints of farmyard. Abundant charisma that, as ever with this series, works in a copita, a tumbler, or a highball.

"My collaboration with Decadent Drinks for their Equinox and Solstice whisky range opened up an exciting opportunity to engage with a deeply rooted Scottish industry and to extend my painting practice into a new realm, one that enters the everyday, beyond the traditional gallery context. Seeing paintings that are inherently material, largescale, singular and tactile translated into a mass‑production process was both intriguing and surprising. Much like casting or screen-printing, the act of replication raises its own set of questions about originality, transformation and how an artwork can shift when it moves across pathways and scales.
Whisky, as an object of Scottish heritage, holds a longstanding connection to cultural identity, craft and landscape. My curiosity about this relationship—its processes of distillation, ageing and its symbolic resonance, has sparked further reflection within my practice. It invites a deeper consideration of how I engage with landscape, how place is experienced and translated, and how these sensibilities can be carried into unexpected contexts such as this collaboration.
A further 3 bottle designs will be released over the coming year within the same range- Stay tuned!"
