SINK SPACE

gsa-logo.jpg

Sink Space" is a 2023 installation created for April's Undergraduate Degree in Sculpture & Environmental Art. The work explores painting beyond the canvas—painting as spatial translation and architectural dialogue. Gesture becomes form, expanded to a monumental scale, where geometric structures interlace with the existing features of Stow College, a former engineering school. At its heart, a drainpipe—ordinary, functional—becomes a focal point, reimagined and reworked in vivid orange. Sink Space probes the intersection of environment, history, and material, inviting viewers to experience painting as an immersive, spatial act embedded within the language of the building itself.
